Each of these covers one area in more depth, with its own topic list and price row.

  • Electronics tuition: analogue and digital circuits, amplifiers, filters, semiconductor devices, LTspice and KiCad.
  • Electrical engineering tuition: circuit theory and network analysis, AC and DC analysis, power systems, electrical machines and three-phase systems.
  • MATLAB and Simulink tuition: MATLAB fundamentals, plotting and data analysis, signal processing, and Simulink modelling and control system design.

A worked example: the RC low-pass filter

Circuit theory and signals and systems meet here: the same building block, read two ways.

VinRCVout
RC low-pass filter: R and C set the cutoff frequency.
0 dBfc-20 dB/decadeFrequency (log)
Past the cutoff, gain falls 20 dB per decade.

Who this is for

  • Undergraduates on resits
  • International students
  • Career changers moving into engineering

How lessons work

  • A shared digital whiteboard, worked through together in real time.
  • Screen share, for past papers, specifications and your own working.
  • Written notes sent after every session.
  • Evening and weekend availability, with no travel time.
  • Sessions arranged around your local time zone, with early morning and late evening slots available.

In-person lessons are also available in Birmingham and London, with a 90 minute minimum session.

Frequently asked questions

Which modules do you cover?

Circuit theory and network analysis, signals and systems, control systems, analogue and digital electronics, power electronics, and embedded systems, plus MATLAB, Simulink, LTspice and KiCad. See our dedicated electronics, electrical engineering and MATLAB pages for more detail on each.

Do you teach students outside the UK?

Yes. Sessions run online and are arranged around your local time zone, with early morning and late evening slots available. Payment is by bank transfer.

I'm resitting a module. Can you help?

Yes. Resits are a regular part of the work, not an exception to it.

Do I get notes after a session?

Yes. Sessions are screen-shared and followed by annotated notes, so you have a record of what was covered.

Is there a minimum number of sessions?

No. There's no registration fee and no block commitment. You book one session at a time unless you choose a discounted block.

Does online tuition work as well as in person for university engineering?

For most students, yes: screen sharing a datasheet, MATLAB session or simulation is arguably better than looking at it on a table between two people. It's also the only realistic option for most students, since resits and modules run on tight timelines and international students aren't in Birmingham or London at all. In-person sessions are still available if you're local and prefer them.
